Overview of Mako and Mako Lite

Specifications and Design

Mako boasts an impressive endurance of up to 12.5 hours and can cover a distance of about 463 miles. It has a fuel capacity ranging from 18 to 68 gallons. The drone measures approximately 11.4 feet in length and has a beam slightly over 4 feet, with an empty weight of about 895 lbs and a payload capacity of 200 lbs.

Mako Lite, slightly smaller, spans over 9 feet in length with a beam of 3.10 feet. It weighs about 455 lbs when empty and can carry up to 100 lbs. Despite its reduced size and fuel capacity (8-30 gallons), it shares the same endurance and range as its larger counterpart.

Navigation and Capabilities

Both Mako models are equipped with advanced GNSS navigation systems and a 900 MHz LOS radio, ensuring reliable communication and control. They are powered by jet-driven hulls, allowing speeds over 57.5 miles per hour. AEVEX emphasizes these drones’ capability to operate autonomously, even in GPS-denied environments, by utilizing cutting-edge algorithms and sensor fusion.

The Role of Drones in Modern Warfare

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict illustrates the significant role unmanned crafts play in contemporary military strategies. Drones offer a means to strike, surveil, and defend without direct human involvement on the frontline, suggesting a future where technology could dominate warfare tactics.

AEVEX’s Mako series not only supports conventional naval tasks but also adapts quickly to specialized missions through customizable kits and add-ons, like extra fuel tanks, weaponry, and surveillance tools.

AEVEX Aerospace’s Mako and Mako Lite represent a significant advancement in naval Drone Technology, combining flexibility, high performance, and autonomous capabilities. As unmanned vehicles continue to evolve, they are set to redefine the landscape of military engagements, minimizing human risks and expanding tactical possibilities. The introduction of Mako and Mako Lite is a step toward a future where drones increasingly hold the front line in global defense strategies.
