A New Era in Law Enforcement and Rescue Operations

The Ector County Sheriff’s Office in Texas is embracing cutting-edge technology with the introduction of the Autel Robotics Dragonfish Drone, a unique addition to law enforcement in West Texas.

Acquired partly with funds seized from criminal investigations, Sheriff Mike Griffis expressed enthusiasm about the new fixed-wing drone’s capabilities.

Multifaceted Application

The Autel Dragonfish Drone, boasting a substantial two-hour flight time and an 18-mile range, is set to enhance the existing drone program significantly.

It will play a pivotal role in crime scene documentation and SWAT team assistance, reports YourBasin.com.

Beyond its law enforcement use, the drone is also equipped for life-saving operations, including Search and Rescue missions and firefighting support.

This new Drone Technology marks a significant step forward in the Ector County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to innovative law enforcement and public safety strategies.

The Ector County Sheriff’s Office appears to be very well equipped whetting comes to various types of drones it has access to.

Apart from the Autel Robotics Dragonfish drone, the office also has access to a DJI Matrice 300 RTK and two DJI Matrice 30T equipped with a thermal camera, as well as a FPV-style, DJI Avata drone, which would be highly suitable to fly inside of structures.
