A 10-year-old Louisiana girl is now home safe after an Arkansas company used a DJI drone to help locate her. The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the girl was found around 11 p.m. on Sunday, thanks to the efforts of Drone Management Services from Magnolia, Arkansas.
Drone to the Rescue
The girl was reported missing earlier in the day, and the search intensified as the hours passed. Drone Management Services, a company based in Magnolia, Arkansas, stepped in to assist with their advanced Drone Technology. The Drone Video captured the moment the girl was found in a wooded area near Sand Plant Road in Webster Parish, Louisiana.
A Successful Search
Josh Kolber, co-owner of Drone Management Services, received the call for help while in Arkansas. He quickly made his way to Louisiana and launched his drone. After a thorough search, Kolber spotted the girl sleeping on the ground.
“I stayed on the south side of Sand Plant Road, and she was probably 200 yards down that road,” Kolber said, according to News Nation Now. “She woke up, you can see her head snap back as soon as law enforcement officers get there and get her a bottle of water and got her checked out.”
Reunited with Family
The successful rescue brought joy to everyone involved, including the hundreds of volunteers who participated in the search.
“It was a desperate situation and whether somebody else found her or we found her, I’m just glad she was found,” Kolber said.
The girl is now reunited with her family, thanks to the combined efforts of the community and advanced drone technology.
