The Arrival of Groundbreaking DJI Dock 2 and DJI Matrice 3D Drones

DJI, a global leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, has once again made headlines with its latest offerings – the DJI Dock 2, Matrice 3DT, and Matrice 3D – now officially on the radar for an international release. These advancements have recently been documented through their registration with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as first spotted by DroneNR, signaling a significant leap forward in Drone Technology and application.

DJI Dock 2: Redefining Efficiency and Reliability

The DJI Dock 2 emerges as a standout innovation, designed for space efficiency and enhanced capability. With an FCC ID of DOCK022308, this docking station boasts a compact and lightweight design, achieving a 75% reduction in volume and a 68% decrease in weight, now weighing just 34kg without a drone. Its portability is unmatched, facilitating easy relocation and testing across various environments.

Beyond its physical attributes, the Dock 2 is engineered to be robust, holding an IP55 rating which denotes a high level of protection against dust and water ingress. It has an impressive operational range of up to 10km and incorporates an environmental monitoring system to adapt to different conditions seamlessly.

In terms of resilience and operational efficiency, the DJI Dock 2 is equipped with a built-in backup battery that offers an additional 5 hours of operation in case of power outages or when deployed in remote locations.

DJI has thoughtfully designed the dock for minimal maintenance, requiring service only once every six months, thereby reducing costs and enhancing uptime for users.

DJI Matrice 3D Series: Pioneering Drone Technology

Accompanying the Dock 2, DJI introduces the Matrice 3D and Matrice 3DT drones, marking the company’s first drones explicitly designed for docking station compatibility.

Registered under the FCC ID M3D2308, these drones are not only innovative but are also designed to meet the rigorous demands of enterprise applications.

The DJI Matrice 3D series drones offer a substantial battery life of 50 minutes and feature six-way obstacle avoidance for enhanced safety. They boast a maximum operational range of 10km, supported by a battery rated for 400 cycles, ensuring reliability and longevity.

Precision is key in drone operations, and the Matrice 3D series does not disappoint. Both models include a built-in RTK module, offering an accuracy of ±3 cm, which is crucial for detailed and sensitive tasks.

The Matrice 3D is equipped with a wide-angle 4/3 CMOS 20MP sensor featuring a mechanical shutter, alongside a 1/2″ CMOS telephoto 12MP sensor. On the other hand, the Matrice 3DT steps up the imaging capabilities with a 1/1.32 inch CMOS 48MP sensor, the same telephoto sensor as the Matrice 3D, and a 640×512 thermal camera, mirroring the capabilities of the Mavic 3 Enterprise and Mavic 3 Thermal drones.
