DJI Avata 2: Leaked Photos Suggest Imminent Launch New DJI Drone

Estimated read time 2 min read

Leaked photos of the DJI Avata 2 retail box have surfaced, providing the clearest indication yet that the launch of DJI’s new cinewhoop-style drone is imminent. The photos, leaked by long-time DJI leakers Igor Bogdanov from Quadro_News and DealsDrone, reveal details about the drone, accessories, and packaging.

DJI Avata 2 and Accessories

The front of the box showcases the DJI Avata 2 drone, which appears to be more aerodynamic and streamlined than its predecessor. The box also features the new DJI Goggles 3 and a new DJI RC Motion 3 remote controller. Some social media users have questioned whether a regular controller will be available and why one isn’t included in the box by default. Hopefully, we will be able to purchase one separately.

The DJI Goggles 3 feature two front-facing cameras, which could indicate the inclusion of augmented reality or the ability to see one’s surroundings while wearing the goggles. However, it’s important to note that according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drone regulations, pilots will still need to fly the DJI Avata 2 with a visual observer, as seeing through the goggles’ cameras does not qualify as maintaining visual line of sight.
