Building on a Solid Foundation
The X10D is the second Skydio aircraft to achieve this status, following the X2D. This recognition confirms Skydio’s commitment to cybersecurity and reliability.
Mark Valentine, President of Global Government at Skydio, emphasized, “This represents an important step forward in providing secure, autonomous uncrewed aerial systems to more U.S. defense operations.”
Advanced Technology for Defense
The Skydio X10D features a 48MP telephoto camera capable of identifying a person from 2400 feet and a vehicle from 6500 feet. It’s the first drone with the Teledyne FLIR Boson+ sensor, the industry’s most precise radiometric thermal camera, designed for day and night ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) use.
Night Operations Specialist
A standout feature is Skydio NightSense, the only onboard AI supporting autonomous flight in low or no-light conditions. With NightSense, operators can confidently navigate in complete darkness, avoiding obstacles. Additionally, the Blackout Mode turns off all lights, making the drone invisible to the naked eye.
Streamlined Procurement
The X10D is available through the General Services Administration (GSA) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) schedules, streamlining the procurement process for government and defense entities.
The Skydio X10D’s inclusion on the Blue sUAS Cleared List underscores its role in enhancing operational effectiveness and security for defense operations. Its advanced features make it an invaluable tool for various scenarios, especially night operations.
