A Spectacle of Light and Technology
On a chilly November evening, the Vermo race track in Espoo, Finland, became the stage for a record-breaking spectacle. Here, 687 Teslas, from Model 3s to Model Xs, lit up the night in a synchronized dance of lights and music, setting a new world record for the largest Tesla light show.
The Art of Coordination
This extraordinary event was the brainchild of Tesla Club Finland. Collaborating with Simon Pollock of TeslaLightShows.io, they orchestrated an unforgettable show. The light show began with an intense cover of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Royal Deluxe, crescendoing to the iconic beats of “Sandstorm” by Darude. The meticulous coordination of lights and music transformed the gathering of cars into a moving canvas of art.
Capturing the Magic
To immortalize this unique display, Flyby Guys, a Finnish drone services company, was hired. Stephen Sutton, CEO of Flyby Guys, shared the challenges and thrills of capturing this event.
“Safety was the most important thing,” Sutton said, explaining the extensive planning and coordination required, especially considering the proximity of Meilahti Hospital and potential medical helicopter flights.
Five drones, piloted by experienced Flyby Guys team members, soared above the Teslas, capturing the show’s grandeur. “We didn’t know exactly what the show would be like,” Sutton recalled, highlighting the one-shot nature of this project. The result was a stunning seven-hour edited video, showcasing the light show in all its glory.
Community and Innovation
The event wasn’t just a display of lights; it was a testament to community and innovation. Local businesses and major sponsors, including Michelin and Tesla Finland, supported the event, offering prizes and test drives. This communal effort showcases the unique bond within the Tesla community, where technology meets creativity.
Looking Ahead
This remarkable achievement sets a new benchmark in the world of Tesla Light Shows. With such creativity and enthusiasm in the Tesla community, it won’t be surprising if this record is soon surpassed. For Tesla owners intrigued by this spectacle, Pollock’s website offers the chance to download the light show files, inviting more to join in this artistic expression of technology.
