Leading Stabilizer Company Rolls Out Exciting New Features and Optimizations
DJI, the world’s premier manufacturer of camera stabilizers and gimbals, has just released significant firmware updates for its DJI RS 4, RS 4 Pro, and Focus Pro products. These updates, available as of April 9th, 2024, the same day as the official launch of these products, bring a host of new features and performance enhancements that are sure to excite filmmakers and videographers alike.
RS 4 and RS 4 Pro: Self-Check and Improved Stabilization

Other improvements include optimized car detection, more stable distance measurement in challenging lighting conditions, and helpful prompts when the grip’s battery voltage is abnormal. The hand unit now displays connection status when linked to the Ronin 4D or Inspire 3.

To take advantage of these new features and improvements, users will need to update their firmware using the DJI Ronin app (v1.7.0 for iOS and Android) or DJI Assistant 2 (Ronin Series) v2.1.11, depending on the device. DJI reminds users to keep the app connected throughout the update process and to protect any attached cameras and lenses, as motors will power off during the update.
In the event of an update failure, DJI advises restarting the device and trying again. As always, it’s crucial to keep the DJI Ronin app updated to the latest version when performing firmware updates.
