Today, DJI, the global leader in civilian drones, announced the release of their new Power 1000 and Power 500 portable power stations. Leveraging over a decade of battery R&D expertise, these power stations offer fast charging for DJI drone batteries as well as power for common household devices.
“Over the past several years we’ve seen travelers and content creators around the world increasingly turn to DJI drones and handheld cameras, to capture and share their experiences. These users have a demand for fast charging, worry-free, sustainable power consumption and today we’re glad we can address this with the new DJI portable power stations.” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI.
“Whether consumer, professional, enterprise or agricultural, DJI has a long history in battery research and development. Batteries are paramount to the user experience with battery life and charging efficiency, central to user needs. We hope that the DJI Power series can further improve the outdoor experience by eliminating power consumption anxiety and, in the home, by being on hand as a home backup to tackle power outage issues.”
Key Features for DJI Power 1000 and 500
The Power 1000 has a 1024 Wh capacity and 2200W max output, while the smaller Power 500 packs 512 Wh and 1000W. Both units charge fully in just 70 minutes (80% in 50 minutes).
DJI drones like the Mavic 3, Air 3, Matrice 30, and Inspire 3 can fast charge their batteries from 10% to 95% in around 30 minutes using the power stations and special charging cables. This allows drone pilots to enjoy a full day of flying with just 3 batteries. The power stations themselves can be recharged via wall outlet, car charger, solar panels, or USB-C.
Uncompromising Safety Standards
DJI has made safety the top priority in every aspect of the Power 1000 and 500 – from their physical construction and battery chemistry to the onboard software. The devices have successfully passed a rigorous battery of 26 product test certifications conducted by SGS, a renowned Swiss third-party testing firm.
Moreover, the power stations feature an advanced Intelligent Battery Management System utilizing Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells. These cells boast an impressive lifespan of up to 3,000 charge cycles or 10 years. The system also incorporates multiple safety mechanisms, such as temperature sensors, fuses, and flame-retardant, high-strength materials. Users can have total confidence and peace of mind in the safety of the DJI Power 1000 and 500.
As a testament to their quality and reliability, DJI offers a three-year warranty on the power stations when purchased directly from their official store. Customers can even extend this coverage to a total of five years by registering their product. With such comprehensive safety features and strong warranty support, DJI ensures that users can depend on the Power 1000 and 500 to provide portable power safely and securely in any situation.
