This update reportedly introduces key enhancements to flight stability, camera control, and tracking features, though the drone remains unavailable at the DJI online store in the U.S., posing challenges for widespread adoption.

At DroneXL, we currently don’t have access to a Mavic 4 Pro to test these claims firsthand, relying instead on community reports for validation. If you have the drone, please share your upgrade experiences to help us and other pilots.

Technical Upgrades Enhance Flight and Camera Capabilities

The V01.00.0200 firmware brings notable technical improvements. Pilots gain enhanced tilt in vertical mode, enabling steeper angles for dynamic aerial footage, a boon for creative shoots. The update reportedly also improves flight performance in fog or mist, while fixing motor vibration issues on the ground for smoother takeoffs. A standout feature is the adjustable ActiveTrack distance, allowing precise control over subject tracking.

The firmware files, sized at 868MB for the drone and 1446MB for the DJI RC 2 remote controller, indicate significant updates, including fixes for “some known issues” as noted in the update prompt. These changes build on the initial V01.00.0100 release from May 2025, likely incorporating new algorithms for obstacle avoidance and transmission protocols.

Community Insights and Future Outlook

DJI’s reliance on community feedback drives this update, with Tandoi noting, “#Mavic4Pro firmware update! More tilt in vertical mode, Better fog/mist flight (tested!), Motor vibration fix on ground, ActiveTrack: settleable distance.

This firmware update was confirmed by another user on social media as well, though the lack of first-hand confirmation leaves some questions unanswered. Pilots should monitor the DJI Fly App and consult support resources for regional rollout details.
