DJI’s New Budget-Friendly Goggles N3 Leaked: A Game-Changer for Drone Pilots?

Estimated read time 3 min read

A new leak has surfaced in the drone world, revealing DJI’s upcoming Goggles N3. This affordable FPV headset is designed for the DJI Neo drone, promising to shake up the market with its budget-friendly approach. The leak comes from well-known drone insider Jasper Ellens on X (formerly Twitter).

Sleek Design Meets Functionality

The leaked image shows a single-screen headset with a compact, “chubby but light” design. The Goggles N3 sports a dark exterior with the DJI logo prominently displayed. Its ergonomic shape suggests comfort for extended flight sessions.

“Another exclusive leak – Say hello to my little friend the #DJIGOGGLESN3. The N3 is the cheap, chubby but light, single-screen, affordable O4 goggles DJI made for the #Neo,” Ellens wrote in his post.

Compatibility and Features

While full specs aren’t available yet, the Goggles N3 is said to use DJI’s O4 (OcuSync 4) video transmission system. This suggests improved range and image quality compared to previous models.

A follower pointed out that the analog buttons are reminiscent of the V2 goggles and wondered about how much it would be and if it would come with a RC Motion 1 or 3 controller. Ellens didn’t confirm but hinted at the possibility, saying, “Motion 3 I am sure” in response to a question about compatibility with RC Motion controllers.

Pricing and Availability

No official pricing or release date has been announced. However, given the emphasis on affordability, we can expect the Goggles N3 to be competitively priced.

Future DJI Releases

In the same thread, Ellens dropped hints about other upcoming DJI products. He mentioned that DJI Mavic 4 leaks aren’t expected until December, addressing speculation about the popular consumer drone line.

DroneXL’s Take

This leak aligns with DJI’s strategy of expanding its product range to cater to different market segments. By offering a more affordable FPV option, DJI could attract new pilots to the hobby and provide an upgrade path for existing users.

The Drone Industry has been seeing a surge in FPV popularity, especially with advancements in AI-assisted flight. Budget-friendly options like the Goggles N3 could accelerate this trend, making immersive drone piloting more accessible to the masses.
