Estimated read time 3 min read

A leaked image has surfaced on social media, potentially revealing additional details about DJI’s upcoming Air 3S drone. The information, shared by reliable industry insider OsitaLV on X (formerly Twitter), gives us a glimpse into what could be DJI’s next flagship travel photography drone.

Cutting-Edge Features

According to this product sheet, the DJI Air 3S appears to be packing some serious hardware. It boasts a 1-inch CMOS sensor and dual 4K/60fps HDR video capabilities, suggesting a significant upgrade in image quality.

The drone also features 360-degree obstacle avoidance and a “new generation intelligent return and precise landing” system, hinting at improved safety features (that we already know includes LiDAR).

The same product overview also informs of an impressive 45-minute flight time and 20 km (12.4 mile) transmission range.

Pricing and Packages

The leak reveals three different packages for the Chinese market:

  1. DJI Air 3S (RC-N3): $978
  2. DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo (RC-N3): $1,230
  3. DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo (RC2): $1,398

These prices are directly converted into USD and should give you an indication of what we can expect in the United States.

The Fly More Combos include additional batteries, a charging hub, and other accessories, offering better value for serious users.

DJI Care Refresh

DJI’s popular protection plan, DJI Care Refresh, is also mentioned. It’s priced at $98 for one year or $166 for two years, covering up to two replacements (including one flyaway incident).

DroneXL’s Take

This leak, if accurate, suggests that DJI is continuing to push the boundaries of consumer Drone Technology. The Air 3S appears to blend features from both the Air and Mavic lines, potentially offering prosumer-level capabilities in a more compact form factor.

As we’ve seen with previous DJI Air models, these drones often strike a balance between portability and performance. The extended flight time and improved camera specs could make the Air 3S an attractive option for travel photographers and videographers.

However, it’s important to remember that this information is based on a leak, and official details may differ. We’ll be keeping a close eye on DJI’s official channels for any confirmations or additional information.
