DJI, the world’s leading drone manufacturer, has officially announced the release date for a new product codenamed “Chase the View.” The unveiling is set for October 15, 2024, at 9 AM EDT, as confirmed by DJI’s official Twitter account.
Teaser Image Hints at Innovative Display Technology
The announcement comes with an intriguing teaser image that suggests the new product may feature advanced photographic capabilities. The image shows a rectangular screen-like device emitting a vibrant blue glow, displaying what appears to be a snowy landscape beneath an aurora-filled sky.
The two top shapes through which the light seems to shine through resemble the dual camera set up we know from the DJI Air 3 drone and what we have seen on the yet-to-be-released DJI Air 3S drone.
The bottom two shapes seem to mimic the camera sensors. A larger one for the main wide-angle camera and a smaller sensor for the 70mm tele lens camera as per the leaked specs.
Speculation Surrounds Product Identity
While DJI hasn’t explicitly stated what “Chase the View” refers to, industry insiders are buzzing with speculation. Given DJI’s focus on aerial imaging, it’s likely to refer to the DJI Air 3S drone’s photo and video recording capabilities that will help you to chase the view and capture amazing Drone Photos and aerial footage.
Community Engagement Continues
In the lead-up to the big reveal, DJI is keeping its community engaged. The company’s recent #WingedWednesday campaign encouraged users to share their best sunset photos captured with DJI drones, maintaining excitement around aerial photography.
DroneXL’s Take
This announcement from DJI comes at an interesting time in the Drone Industry. With the recent focus on artificial intelligence in drone technology, we might be seeing a product that integrates AI for smarter flight patterns or more intuitive controls.
The emphasis on “chasing the view” could also indicate advancements in tracking capabilities with the help of the rumored DJI Air 3S LiDAR capabilities, possibly allowing for more dynamic and cinematic shots without complex piloting skills.
Whatever this new product turns out to be, almost certainly the DJI Air 3S, it’s clear that DJI is continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible in aerial imaging and Drone Technology. We’re eager to see how this will impact both professional and recreational drone users.
